Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2019
A vineyard of 1.57 ha, Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet is the only Grands Crus to be located entirely within the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet. At an altitude of 240m, it is situated a little lower than its neighbors Chevalier-Montrachet and Montrachet.
Immediately after the harvest, the grapes are pressed in whole bunches in a vertical pneumatic press, then we carry out a static settling of the juice for 24 hours at 12°C. The musts are then put directly into barrels and the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out in a single 240 litre barrel. The wine is then aged on its lees for a total of 24 months, without racking.
This crystal-clear golden wine has a rich nose with aromas of dried fruit and a hint of wood. This aromatic power reflects the reputation of this wine, which is among the rarest in the world. On the palate, complexity and roundness mingle to offer a bouquet of exotic notes and candied fruits sublimated by vegetal touches.
