LA VAL TREIXADURA 2023 is a single-varietal wine made from 100% Treixadura grapes, from the Porto estate (4 hectares and 13 years old), with alluvial and pebble soil, cultivated according to the traditional Galician vine training system on pergolas. Its production process includes manual harvesting in 20 kg boxes, whole grape pressing at low pressure (no more than 0.4 bar), spontaneous fermentation in small 1,500-liter stainless steel tanks, and three months aging on its fine lees. The 2023 harvest was carried out on September 6th, achieving moderate alcohol content and high acidity.
Tasting note
This wine faithfully reflects the characteristics of Treixadura, a noble Galician variety historically cultivated in the southern area of Rías Baixas. La Val Treixadura presents more Atlantic nuances than the traditional expression of this variety, standing out for its higher acidity (7.2 g/l), remarkable freshness and moderate alcohol content (12.5%). The result is an elegant wine with well-defined varietal character and an Atlantic expression that maintains the identity of this native grape.
